"TV Producer Aaron Spelling Dies at 83 (Associated Press, June 24, 2006)

LOS ANGELES (June 24) - Aaron Spelling, a onetime movie bit player who created a massive number of hit series, from the vintage "Charlie's Angels" and "Dynasty" to "Beverly Hills 90210" and "Melrose Place," died Friday, his publicist said. He was 83. Spelling died at his mansion in Los Angeles after suffering a stroke on June 18, according to publicist Kevin Sasaki.

Mr. Spelling died at 6:25 p.m. (June 23rd) at his Los Angeles home, wife Candy and son Randy at his side, according to publicist Kevin Sasaki. Although daughter Tori Spelling was not reportedly present, Us Weekly reports in its latest issue that, days before the stroke, she reconciled with father following a months-long rift purportedly stemming from the protrayal of them in her semi-autobiographical VH1 comedy series, so noTORIous.

Spelling set a record of producing more than 30,000 TV episodes. His latter-day hits were among his biggest hits: The family drama 7th Heaven, which premiered in 1996, and the supernatural series Charmed, casting spells as of 1998, paced the WB into the 21st century.

Memorial services are pending."

* As a huge fan of his many shows, I'm sad to see him go. I sincerely give my condolences to the Spelling family and wish them all the best. And I wish to thank Mr. Spelling himself for the years he has been in my life by just offering me wonderful shows like Charmed and Beverly Hills 90210.
